Have a Very Fairy Christmas!
Fairies are the reason for the season
They sparkle, shimmer, glisten, bounce and shine
They dwell in Christmas trees and in your stockings
If not in yours, then surely they’re in mine
They often cause shenanigans at nighttime
With ornaments and lights they like to play
Don’t be surprised if muddle greets your morning
When fairies rearrange your fine array
Despite the mess, it’s better when they’re present
They add enthusiasm and esprit
The holidays are magic when you enter
A realm which shares felicity and glee
If your fairies dip into the toddy
Let them have their fill and just be kind
They just might sing a music most supernal
In fairy dialect that blows your mind
If your dog seems just a little skittish
His ears are tuned to frequencies unknown
Just have another brandy and stay focused
Remember that your mind has just been blown
Don’t blame yourself if one just took a header
Into the Christmas punch that you just made
These feisty little creatures might go crazy
They’ll do their thing, so don’t try to persuade
Cross the bridge, and always remain festive
Your visitors have blessed your humble home
Be thankful your traditions are expansive
Just gladly laugh and let their mischief roam
What is Christmas if it’s not for shouting…
Praise to the skies, you’re thankful you’re alive
The universe mysterious and inviting
Diversity and sharing make you thrive
If brownies, gnomes or elves come into play
I’d say that you’ve been chosen, and that’s good
Your special holiday will be remembered
Welcome the Fae into your neighborhood!
Fear not, the little ones do need to rest
They party when they're feeling avant-garde
But when the moment strikes, mine take the plunge
And fall asleep upon my St. Bernard
