I Want to Win a Rainbow Print!

I like contests, oh so much!
But I don't have the winning touch
I'll just soak in rainbow art
And write some rhymes...and such and such

I often go down to the beach
Coney Island is in reach
I warm myself in shiny sand
And study local mermaid speech

I stare into the foamy tide
With the sand crabs I confide
Around my castle build a moat
Until my beard, a mermaid's eyed

I wink at her and smile with glee
Invite her for a cup of tea
It's likely she just wants to swim
Then I dash into the sea

"Oh Rainbow Maid, don't go too far
My freestyle is not up to par
I'll write a poem we both can read
Twinkle, twinkle little star!"

I always fail but catch a glint
Of luscious mermaid's seaside sprint
Perhaps my luck will change today
I’LL WIN A FAIRY-KITTY PRINT!!
