Luna Descending

Leave not so soon, my companion
Let us remain in this phase
Tarry, celestial mother
I thrive in your passionate gaze

Give me an Endymion sleep
In quietus let me remain
Why give me away to the dayspring?
I seek your ethereal plane

Aurora is stealthily creeping
From golden slumber she turns
In halcyon moments, she praises
My Goddess before she adjourns

Infused into my waking dreams
You shine your perpetual hope
I look to your speedy reentry
You bring to my vision new scope

Kissed by the sun, while descending
Luna, in elegant lines
Twilight’s miraculous lover
My heartstrings and verse she defines
