A Fairy Gathering by George Cruikshank

The Fairy Gathering

Do you believe in fairies
Wherever they may be
In groups, or flying solo
In woods or by the sea?

Do you see the fairy rings
That dance by starry light
Family reunions
That celebrate the night?

Follow the next garden gnome
With lantern in his hand
Jump into the rabbit hole
To enter Fairyland!

If you do not find the door
Close your eyes and say
"Please take me to the gathering
Where the fairies play."

When your eyes re-open
You'll see the mysteries
The sparkling enchantment
That saturates the breeze

Just a word of caution
Before you join this dance
They may not let you home again
You'll have but half a chance
