The Rainbow of the Soul

The soul would have no rainbow
If eyes would have no tears
A prism of compassion
You've nurtured through the years

The light that is refracted
From life' s struggle, bittersweet
Will bathe your better conscience
And put you on your feet

When eagles soar in skies above
When nature shows her art
Flowers paint the sacred plain
The sun shines on your heart

To spark the fire of destiny
And tend your passion's flame
So you can give more than you take
And minimize the shame

When sorrow floods on every shore
If wrong subdues the right
We listen to Great Mother
Walking tall and brave, we fight!

The soul that has no rainbow
Is dead to vibrant life
And never finds a balance,
Just misery and strife

Your guide and inner-palette
Beats a steady metronome
Reflecting shades of every hue
That will safely guide you home

Let the spectrum of emotions
Pierce your windows' welcome mist
The spirit will embrace you,
With courageous love persist
