A Troll and Two Elves

Winter City Elves

This winter I write about elves
Wherever they happen to thrive
I penned four different kinds of verse

I might as well pen number five

I did not travel too far
I should have had a hunch
There they were awaiting me
Where I have my Sunday brunch

These elves are of a different breed
More earthly then I've known
They just might be half-human
To a taller stature prone

To all kinds I am kind,
Elves from mountains, woods, or sea
This tribe just so happened
To live so close to me

Delightful creatures, all the same
I'm so glad my vision's clear
To fairy wonder-magic
And the spirits that are near

The elves, they live among us
They were pleasant to this troll
How nice for precious moments
My poet's eyes they stole.
