The Path of the Tricksters
I often live In Two Minds
A fork between two roads
My hemispheres are split in half
I bear such heavy loads.
I sadly doubt most every choice
Feeling unprepared
I ponder what the options are
And wonder if I’ve erred.
My heart is always pulling strings
And beats a lively drum
My brain insists on clipping wings
And then my soul goes numb.
If intuitions I could trust
Accept the Paradox
I would let my spirit fly
And smash these mental blocks.
This muddlehead won’t idle me
I’ll fight the fear he breeds
I’ll walk through many gardens
And clear the excess weeds.
In fairyland, on every path
I will not be outdone
Tripped by my confusion
Or the Hidden One.
Frightful sprites might visit me
Of this I can be sure
Oh No! will scream with pounded fist
I'll breathe and then endure.
In life I am the Juggler
Of everything I do
The surprises and decisions
Till now have seen me through.
If I left something Big Behind
It will not cause distress
I’ve gathered sensitivities
Some others have much less.
If you settle your emotions
Avoid sitting in the dark
A good fairy may just visit you
For me, it was Bright Spark
Playfully he flickered
And glowed like candle’s flame
Then whispered to my perplexed mind
You have to see their game.
With vision keen, Prick Up Your Ears!
Take part at very stage
Punctuate experiences
You’ve written on your page.
Do not let the Tricksters
Have their merry way
Likewise, don’t ignore them
Take heed in what they say.
They just might be blessings
A journey’s subtle guides
Without them, could you figure out
Where your heart resides?
Now I let them play their tricks
And tempt me to lose sight
But I'm prepared to challenge
And put up a playful fight.
